April 21-2012 Allure of the Seas suffered what the cruise line has been quoted to call a "small and short-lived engine fire." The Allure was sailing from St. Maarten to Port Everglades when an engine fire broke out at 7:45 p.m. Friday. The ship's high fog system was immediately activated, which contained and extinguished the fire. No passengers or crew members were injured and the ship is continuing under its reduced own power. It is scheduled to return to Port Everglades on Sunday.

Nov.14-2013 Allure of the Seas has been experiencing unanticipated bearing wear in one of its three propulsion motors. All three motors are fully operational, the company said. Royal Caribbean International has reached a decision on what to do about the propulsion issue on Allure of the Seas, which has slowed the ship for the past few weeks. The Feb. 23 cruise is canceled for a week of repairs at Grand Bahama Shipyard in Freeport.
