April 21-2012 Allure of the Seas suffered what the cruise line has been quoted to call a "small and short-lived engine fire." The Allure was sailing from St. Maarten to Port Everglades when an engine fire broke out at 7:45 p.m. Friday. The ship's high fog system was immediately activated, which contained and extinguished the fire. No passengers or crew members were injured and the ship is continuing under its reduced own power. It is scheduled to return to Port Everglades on Sunday.
