Technical issues leaving the Carnival Dream docked in St. Maarten,
Carnival Cruise Lines has elected to fly passengers home, cancelling the
rest of the sailing as well as the next the next scheduled cruise.Carnival
Dream has a technical issue with the ship’s backup emergency diesel
generator which the Carnival engineering team is currently working on,
according to the cruise line.
August 12-2017 After experiencing engine trouble on its current seven-night Caribbean voyage, Carnival Dream skipped a port call Friday to instead return directly to its homeport of New Orleans. A statement from Carnival says that the ship's other systems are functioning properly, but the vessel was forced to sail at reduced speeds. That made it necessary for Cozumel to be cut from the itinerary, which also included Montego Bay and Grand Cayman. There's no word yet on the extent of the problem, how long the repairs will take or whether the next sailing will be impacted.
