July 13-2011 Costa Crociere has confirmed that the Costa Marina will be leaving the fleet in November 17-2011. Costa did not say where the Marina is going. She is up for sale. Sistership Costa Allegra will follow in 2012. Rumours are that she is sold to the same company.

The Costa Marina Original built in 1969 as containership Axel Johnson converted from containership into cruiseship  in 1990. Sistership Costa Allegra however a slightly longer.
