CRYSTAL SERENITY

IMO 9243667

Owner: Crystal -Cruises a Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) Company: - Japan/USA

Crystal cruises is a top ranking cruise line.  Crystal Serenity is Crystal Cruises' newest - and largest ship.
May -26-2009  Crystal Serenity sustained a short in a coil in its propulsion pod that reduced its speed, forcing a few cancelled or shortened calls. The short occurred in Australia. Repairs improved the ship’s top speed to 19 knots, just slightly slower than its usual 21 knots. However, a permanent solution requires a new pod, which takes 20 months to build.
Febr.-9-2011 This spring, Crystal will be spending $25+ million dollars to keep its largest ship, Crystal Serenity, on the cutting edge of luxury style.
More than 400 expert technicians flown from around the world, working round the clock for just 14 days, are scheduled for the massive redesign of her 531 Deluxe Staterooms, Penthouses and Penthouses Suites; retail centers; expansive outdoor pool deck and other design projects during a May 8-22 dry dock at Hamburg’s Blohm + Voss shipyard.
