Owner: Peter Deilmann - Germany. The Deutschland is a high rated cruiseship. At this moment the only ocean going cruiseship of the company. She act as 'Traumschiff" in a German TV-soap. The river division with 9 river cruise ships closed in 2008 due to financial problems.

May 23-2010 An engine room fire today forced the evacuation of Deilmann Cruise ship Deutschland in the Norwegian port of Eidfjord. The ship was docked at the time of the fire, all 364 passengers and 241 crew members were evacuated safely with no serious injuries. The fire was contained to the engine room. The fire was extinguished late Sunday afternoon. The ship will be towed to Bergen on Monday for investigations of the damage. Dielmann has canceled all sailings to futher notice. After Sunday night stay at hotels passengers would be flown at home on Monday.
Ship arrived at Blohm und Voss June 2 where it will be repaired. The repairs will take approximately 30 days.
