Grandeur of the Seas has arrived in Freeport where it will undergo an
assessment.A fire on the aft mooring deck of Grandeur of the Seas early
Monday has been extinguished, with no injuries, Royal Caribbean
International confirmed.The fire was put out at 4:58 a.m. and the ship,
operating on full power, is underway to Freeport, Bahamas, for
evaluation. Passengers were released from their muster stations and
allowed to return to their staterooms.The aft area of the ship affected
by the fire, which occurred on Deck 3, has been cordoned off, but most
public spaces and staterooms are reported safe and accessible. All 2,224
passengers and 796 crew have been accounted for, and the company said
all critical ship functions including power, propulsion and
communications systems were able to continue without interruption. Royal
Caribbean International said that repairs to Grandeur of the Seas
will necessitate the cancellation of a total of six cruises

However the Enchantment of the Seas is stretched by 22,2 m.in 2005.
|April 20-2005 The Grandeur of the Seas hit a pier at a Mexican port, putting a 42-foot (13-meter) gash in its hull, but not injuring any passengers or crew members.The accident happened as the Grandeur of the Seas was docking in Costa Maya in the southern part of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. Winds of 17 mph (27 kph) and a stiff current contributed to the incident.Grandeur of the Seas is expected to be repaired and able to depart Puerto Costa Maya on Saturday(april 23) evening, arriving in New Orleans at midday Monday|
