History/Former names: Ship has an affected history. Ordered by Kloster Rederi A/S -Norway for Norwegian Caribbean Line in 1970 by Cantieri Navali del Tirreno & Riuniti Spa- Italy. In 1970 the shipyard encountered financial trouble and was taken over by the Italian IRI Group. IRI cancelled the contract due to expected financial losses. After protest of the owner and Norwegian Governement resulted in futher construction of the ship. In 1970 she became partially completed ready for sale. P&O bought her in 1971. After final completion she starts sailing for P&O in october 1972 as "SPIRIT of LONDON
Spirit of London-Sun Princess- Starship Majestic- Southern Cross-acquired by Festival in 1997 and renamed in Flamenco acquired by FULTON Shipping Inc. / Elysian Cruises- renamed 01-02-2004 Elysian Flamenco renamed 01-03-2004 in New Flamenco - Aquired by Club Cruises (Cruise ship number Five Ltd.)in nov.6-2007 name not changed - renamed 01-06-2008 in Flamenco-1- Ship operate as hotelship in New Caledonia until end 2008- Febr.23-2009 by public auction to Singapore Star Shipping name not changed - laid-up in Port Klang until august 2011.
