 From its hull shape and coating to the lifts, Carnival Horizon has been made as energy efficient as possible.
 The focus on energy efficiency found in sister ship Carnival Vista as first of the serie– delivered in 2016 – has been even further boosted on Carnival Horizon.
The passenger lifts, manufactured by Schindler, are managed. This is a key distinguishing element from the first-in-class ship, as software is used to decrease energy consumption and increase the lifts’ efficiency. Not only is the system new to the Vista class, but it is the first time that it has been used on a ship. Passengers will spend less time waiting for the lift and the traffic is managed in a more efficient way to reduce energy consumption of the lifts.Three scrubbers are used, with two for the two big engines and one allocated to one of the three smaller engines. Particular attention was paid to the advanced Scanship wastewater treatment system  which collects and treats grey and black water. Carnival Cruise Line announced today that the massive LED "Dreamscape" atrium sculpture on the new Carnival Horizon will feature colorful, custom-designed artwork created by patients of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital®.  The eye-catching three-deck high centerpiece in Carnival Horizon's atrium will feature 33 different artistic creations from patients of St. Jude, one of Carnival's largest charitable partners.
 Carnival Horizon will offer a variety of onboard innovations, including the first-ever Dr. Seuss-themed water park as well as a groundbreaking bike-ride-in-the-sky attraction called SkyRide, and an IMAX Theatre.
A wide range of accommodations will also be offered, including spa cabins with exclusive privileges at the luxurious Cloud 9 Spa, extra-roomy staterooms in Family Harbor, and tropics-inspired Havana staterooms and suites with exclusive daytime access to a Cuban-themed bar and pool. Guy’s Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse | Brewhouse, a new barbecue-style restaurant helmed by Food Network star Guy Fieri. The restaurant, which takes smoked comfort food to the max, will also be stocked with four different kinds of craft beer, brewed right in Carnival Horizon’s onboard brewery. Carnival’s newest FunShip will also have the first Teppanyaki specialty restaurant in the line’s history, serving up Japanese-inspired cuisine with a fun flair that combines traditional cooking techniques with performance art. Think of it as dinner and a show. This new venue will be situated within Bonsai Sushi (already one of my favourite places to dine on Carnival’s newest ships), and will complement the other specialty onboard dining venues, including Carnival’s signature steakhouse experience, Fahrenheit 555. On the accommodations front.
In addition to offering the largest and most varied offerings in the fleet, Carnival Horizon's retail space is unique in that it is divided into areas dedicated to a particular shopping experience, each designed around guests' interaction with the various interests.  These areas include:
  • Hip Fish: fashion jewelry, accessories, beauty and fragrances
  • Front Street: fine jewelry and timepieces
  • Cherry on Top: the "sweetest spot on board" with an assortment of candies, novelty items and fanciful gifts
  • Carnival Store: the latest logo items and Carnival Horizon inaugural season memorabilia, as well as Carnival Adventures merchandise offering everything guests need for fun onboard and ashore, such as sunscreen and apparel
  • Portside Liquor & Tobacco: popular duty-free items, including the most extensive spirits display at sea.

Carnival Horizon brings these areas to life by offering a truly immersive shopping experience including a Beauty and Fragrance Bar that allows guests to try out cosmetics, skincare and fragrances and even enjoy a makeover before a night out on board.  Port Side Liquor & Tobacco features a Spirits Tasting Bar where guests can sample and purchase some of the world's finest liquors, including coveted Hennessey White currently not available outside of travel retail.
CARNIVAL HORIZON will offer a wide range of stateroom choices, including the line’s hugely popular Family Suites, Cloud 9 Spa Suites, and the fabulously designed Havana staterooms and suites that were first introduced aboard.
