Narvik Dec.29-2007- The Norwegian cruise ship Fram with 318 passengers on board drifted into an iceberg in Antarctica overnight Saturday but there were no injuries and passengers were reported to be calm. The accident was caused by engine failure, according to the Norwegian Coastal Voyage Group, Hurtigruten, in Narvik.
Nov. 2018 Hurtigruten's 2007-built expedition ship Fram is set for a makeover with updated cabins and suites, new restaurants, a high-tech Science Center and more environmentally friendly engines. This latest, large-scale Hurtigruten refurbishment will take place leading up to the (northern) spring 2020 season. Major technical upgrades during the extensive drydock include upgrading Fram's engines to the highest environmental standards (Tier 3)
