Febr. 2019 -Norwegian Joy the first custom-designed for the Chinese cruise market. Due to lack of interest in China MJM Marine has been appointed as the main outfitting contractor by Norwegian Cruise Line for the refurbishment of Norwegian Joy as the company repositions the ship to North America.Which is being moved to the Alaska market this summer after a year and a half in China. Norwegian Joy will be very similar to sister ships Norwegian Bliss, which launched just last year, and Norwegian Encore, which will make her debut November 2019

Norwegian Joy is Norwegian Cruise Line’s first purpose-built ship customised for the Chinese cruise market. The name Norwegian Joy emphasises the experience that the ship will offer, a promise that guests will ‘Experience Paradise on the Sea.’ Accommodating 3,883 guests with luxurious suites in the exclusive ship-within-a-ship complex, the new Breakaway-Plus Class Ship will debut in China in summer 2017. Norwegian Joy will offer engaging and innovative activities including a first at sea two-level competitive racetrack, an open-air laser tag course, thrilling simulator rides and interactive video walls at the Galaxy Pavilion as well as hover craft bumper cars, a state-of-the-art racing. Homeporting in Shanghai & Tianjin (Beijing), Norwegian Joy was designed by the team at NCL to provide First Class at Sea experiences specifically for the Chinese traveller, with on-board amenities that cater to the unique holiday desires of Chinese guests.
