Short Description:
She is the first ship in the Virgin Voyages fleet and will operate exclusively as an "adults-only" ship for guests aged 18 and over, sailing mainly four-to-five-night Caribbean itineraries from Miami, Florida. joint venture between Virgin Group and Bain Capital, Virgin Voyages is targeted at travelers who might not normally consider cruising The progression shouldn't come as a surprise, given Virgin already has stakes in aviation, trains, hotels and even space travel. The Scarlet Lady is the first of three planned Virgin Voyages ships, with three more due to come in 2021 - 2022 and 2023.
The ship will feature over 20 dining and drinking options -- but no buffets, main dining rooms or assigned dining times like you'd find on traditional cruise ships. Formal wear nights? They've ditched that idea too Restaurants will include Wake, which serves "a theatrical take on steak and seafood" and is "the most glamorous restaurant on the ship." As the name implies, it's located at the back of the ship and offers dramatic views of its wake." But the one that we're most intrigued by is Geonbae, a Korean BBQ restaurant. "Hosted by the loudest servers at sea, each meal will begin with a complimentary round of soju for the table and throughout the evening sailors are encouraged to take part in lively Korean drinking games," says Virgin Voyages' description of the restaurant. All of the ship's restaurant food will be included in the fare, with no upcharges -- another departure from what you'll find on big brand ships currently plying the seas.

It will feature a total of 1,330 cabins and 78 RockStar Suites. The cabins will be divided into six categories, namely XL Sea Terrace, Sea Terrace, Sea View, Insider, and Social Insider. Views of the Sea can be enjoyed from the majority of the cabins, with 86% of the cabins featuring sea terraces.Automatic light, temperature adjusters, autonomous charge unit, 4K flat-screen 43in HDTVs, and mini-bars will form part of the standard cabin design. The luxury ship will not have a main assigned seating dining room with fixed dinner time, but instead will take an alternative approach to the traditional dining style. Located at the aft of the ship, the Wake restaurant will offer seafood and other dishes to guests. Razzel Dazzle, designed by Concrete Amsterdam, will be a First World War-themed restaurant. The multi-cuisine restaurant will primarily offer dishes for vegetarians and will also house a cocktail venue called Red Bar. The Test Kitchen will offer a lab-like environment, where the "chef "will provide all the list of ingredients and details of the recipe to enable guests to choose their preferred style of cooking.Geonbae will be a Korean BBQ restaurant designed by Softroom. The restaurant, along with AvroKO Hospitality Group, plans to avail services of Chef Brad Farmerie. Located on the seventh deck, The Dock will be a lounge area offering a beach club-like experience to guests onboard. The Dock lounge is designed by Roman and Williams.Pink Agave, a Mexican restaurant designed by Tom Dixon, will serve a variety of cuisines onboard. The Galley restaurant will offer different food options ranging from breakfast to dinner. The Pizza Place will offer pizzas, while Extra Virgin, an Italian restaurant, will serve pasta-focused food and offer homemade food experience to travellers.

There is good news for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) travelers who feel isolated and restricted in cruise ship journeys. A new cruise line Virgin Voyages by billionaire Richard Branson will be queer-friendly and accommodate their wishes and sentiments in its upcoming cruise ships.

Scarlet Lady will also feature a tattoo parlour called Squid Ink, which will house two full-time resident tattoo artists.

The ship is equipped with an energy production system of approximately 1 MW, which uses the residual heat from the diesel engine. In addition to a scrubber system for the waste management of sulfur dioxides, the new ship is also equipped with a catalyst, which reduces nitrogen oxides. The Scarlet Lady is also fully equipped with LED lighting to reduce energy consumption, while the hydrodynamic hull design delivers excellent performance resulting in fuel savings.
Virgin Voyages is one of first cruise lines to use Climeon, a technology that utilizes heat generated from the ship's engines
